Peikko to deliver punching reinforcement to a residential complex in Istanbul, Turkey

Peikko Group’s Turkish subsidiary PEIKKO Yapı Malzemeleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş has received a notable order for a residential complex named Nidapark Istinye in Istanbul, Turkey. The order comprises more than 48,000 pieces of PSB® Punching Reinforcement to protect against punching shear failure in concrete slabs. Peikko’s deliveries for the project will be completed by May 2018, and the complex is estimated to be finished during 2019.

The Nidapark Istinye project consists of 55 blocks of four to five stories, offering a total of 538 residential units, combined with topnotch social facilities and extensive green areas. Developed with the Tahincioğlu Real Estate privilege and Emlak Konut REIT assurance, the architectural design of the project belongs to Loft Architects & Koray Yavuzer Architects. Tahincioğlu Real Estate is the main contractor of the project, while the structural design is undertaken by Balkar Engineering.

“PSB® Punching Reinforcement is applicable to various kinds of structural systems and installation situations. Being fully integrated in the concrete elements, it is an ideal reinforcement system for monolithic slim structures or flat concrete structures in general. For this project, using PSB® eliminates drop-down panels under the slabs and provides free open spaces with optimized floor heights”, explains Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
