Peikko Group Corporation has opened its new factory in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The new factory has production and warehouse space of 9,000 m2 and it uses most modern production technology. The factory produces a wide range of products; connection items for concrete construction, DELTABEAM® Composite Beams, and wind turbine foundation components. The opening ceremony was held on the 18th of April. The factory was officially opened by the Consul General of Finland in Saint Petersburg, Mrs. Anne Lammila, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industrial Policy and Innovation of St. Petersburg, Mrs. Fedorova Elena Vladimirovna.

Peikko established its Russian subsidiary OOO Peikko in 2006 when it opened a sales office in Saint Petersburg. Limited local production was started in 2010. The new factory enables Peikko to remarkably widen its product portfolio and to start production of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams and wind turbine foundations components in Russia. The production of the new factory will be certified according to ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090. Peikko is one of few companies in its field having significant production operations in Russia.

“Russia is a large market where the customers’ quality requirements are rapidly increasing. Peikko’s locally produced and modern technical solutions offer new possibilities to the Russian building industry to become more efficient. We at Peikko see great growth opportunities in the Russian, Belarus and Kazakhstan customs union markets”, states Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
