Peikko Group’s German subsidiary Peikko Deutschland GmbH will deliver its DELTABEAM® slim floor structure to an office extension of a shopping mall located in Dortmund, Germany. The order comprises 1.2 kilometers of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams and various sizes of Anchor Bolts used in the building’s frame. The deliveries for the project have started and will continue during September 2017. The project is planned to be finished by the end of 2018.
The Dustmann Shopping Mall will be completely renovated and extended by an additional storey which is constructed using Peikko’s DELTABEAM®. When the additional office storey is completed, the total floor area of the complex will be 15,000 m2 including the mall, offices and a medical station. The project is developed by Dustmann & Co. KG. The main contractor is Peter Rundholz GmbH & Co. KG, and the architectural design is made by henke.siassi architekten. The renovation will highly increase the energy efficiency of the building, and solar panels will provide the building’s self-contained energy source.
“Our DELTABEAM® was chosen to this project because of slenderness of the structure it forms combined with hollow-core slabs. Slim floor construction enabled the use of the building’s old foundation without remarkable changes. This secured a fast construction process”, comments Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.

DELTABEAM® is Peikko’s composite slim-floor system for multi-storey buildings of any kind. It allows flexibility for layout changes throughout the service life of the building, and enables easy HVAC installations. With the use of DELTABEAM® the depth of the whole structure can be reduced, which means savings in construction time and costs as well as in heating and cooling costs. DELTABEAM® enables different kinds of cantilevers and architecturally challenging façade solutions without the use of in-situ casting.
