Peikko Group Corporation’s Austrian subsidiary Peikko Austria GmbH has received a substantial order to an office construction named KOKON II in Ruggell, Liechtenstein. The order comprises 1 kilometer of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams, hidden PCs Corbels, and column connections. The deliveries start in April and continue until August 2017.
KOKON II is the second phase of the project KOKON Corporate Campus that is developed by Kokon Immobilien GmbH. The architectural design has been made by Architektur Pitbau Anstalt and the structural design by Silvio Wille. The first phase KOKON I was finished in 2013 and it consisted of two six-storey buildings having the same structural solution as the second phase – Peikko’s DELTABEAM® and hidden PCs Corbels and column connections in the precast columns. The intermediate floors are made with filigran slabs. The second phase KOKON II being currently under construction consists of 9,000 m2 of office space in two six-storey buildings. The entire project is a low energy construction. When finished the entire campus will offer 42,000 m2 space including offices for 700 people and versatile services including among others a restaurant, fitness center, spa, 24-hour kindergarten, and conferences facilities.
“We are very pleased that our DELTABEAM® and connections were chosen also to the second phase of the KOKON Corporate Campus. We have successfully worked together with Frickbau AG in several building frame projects over a long period of time. The slim floor structure offers higher room height and the long spans enable open and aesthetic interior solutions which are highly valued in such premium class office constructions”, states Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.

DELTABEAM® is Peikko’s composite slim-floor system for multi-storey buildings of any kind. It allows flexibility for layout changes throughout the service life of the building, and enables easy HVAC installations. With the use of DELTABEAM® the depth of the whole structure can be reduced, which means savings in construction time and costs as well as in heating and cooling costs. DELTABEAM® enables different kinds of cantilevers and architecturally challenging façade solutions without the use of in-situ casting.
