Yaeger Architecture designed a three-story, 36,000 square foot addition to Building #346 on the US Armed Forces Reserve Complex in Grand Prairie, Texas for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Field Acquisition Office (FAO).

The addition includes enclosed offices, open workstations, conference rooms and a training room. The addition is provided with its own mechanical and electrical rooms and systems. Fire alarm, fire sprinkler and life safety systems are tied into existing Building #346 systems.

The building is located in a remote corner of the Reserve Complex, largely out of public sight.  The existing building is of simple and modest design, and the new building follows this style to provide a functional and economical solution.  Slightly higher floor-to-floor heights were desired in the new addition, so the connector to the existing building reconciles the difference between the existing building floor levels and the new building’s lower first floor and higher third floor; the second floor matches the existing building.
