A new Wind Park is being built in Kristiinankaupunki, Finland. Peikko is delivering anchor cages and components for rock anchoring. Order included planning and components for total of 34 foundations.

Peikko Group’s Finnish subsidiary Peikko Finland Oy delivers foundation components to Metsälä wind park which is constructed in Kristiinankaupunki, Western Finland. The wind park will have 23 turbines with gravity foundations, to which Peikko delivers anchor cages. In addition to these, Peikko makes foundation design and delivers anchoring components to the 11 turbines with rock foundations. The deliveries of the anchor cages start in March and the rock foundation component deliveries in the end of April. The foundations will be completed by the end of 2016.

Metsälä wind park is developed by EPV Tuulivoima Oy. The foundations are constructed by Suomen Maastorakentajat. Vestas delivers to Metsälä 34 pcs of 3.45 MW turbines with hub heights of 142 meters. The turbine installations take place in spring 2017, after which the wind park will be operational.

”We are glad that our foundation technology is used in the large Metsälä wind park project. We have cooperated with EPV Tuulivoima in gravity foundations for a long time. Metsälä is the first project where EPV utilizes Peikko’s new rock anchoring foundation”, tells Esa Rusila, Managing Director of Peikko Finland Oy.
